Windows server 2003, IE7 redirect to home page
I just installed a new hard drive in my laptop. I installed Windows XP pro, loaded all drivers, Office 2003, additional apps and joined my domain - just like I have a thousand time. I have also tried to change it from the CONTROL PANEL, INTERNET OPTIONS. I have performed this preference change a minimum of twenty times per location. Except this time when ever I log-off or reboot IE redirects my home page to MSN.

Try removing this file unless you know what it does exactly, OR else you may following registry tweaking..
Quote:
"HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Start Page", "http://www.WEBSITEHERE.com"
"WEBSITEHERE" being the current homepage, simply edit and save.

Re: Windows server 2003, IE7 redirect to home page
I think you may also use the Uninstallation of IE7 (which automatically returns you to IE6), When you alter your home page in Internet Explorer, it does not update the default for the current connection. So, the next time you use the connection - the default pages reverts to msnhome. and the last but not the list Uninstall all toolbars and third-party Windows Themes.
The Registry hack: Make sure all are changed to the home page you want:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\QWtp.ad... \browserData.ieProxy.szHomePage
There will be one for each connection defined. And then the standard registry entries:
Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Default_Page_URL
Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Start Page
