Symbian smartphone: Linksys router and static addresses

Linksys router and static addresses
I want to put static addresses to my 2 computers networked. I have a Linksys WRT54GS router. First, I looked in the menu of the router and I have not found. There is a DHCP we can make "diseable" but I can not find where to enter the addresses. Secondly, someone suggested to me that the Linksys firmware does not address the static.

Is this true?

To use static addresses you do anything special to configure your router (usually at least I never quite seen this kind of option). The bulk of the configuration is done at pcs.

My Linksys router supports very well the static addresses ...

You just need to know the address of the router eg 192.168.2.1 and you can in the settings of network connections window for both pc respectively assigned to each of the pc addresses 192.168.2.2 and 192.168.2.3, etc ...

For the Subnet Mask use 255.255.255.0 (usual configuration unless you have a more Fance)
For the gateway address to the address of your router 192.168.2.1 (for example)

Usually the router will start the assignment of dynamic IP address from 192.168.2.100 to avoid conflict (To check the router settings but I too have a Linksys and I have this option) .. .

Otherwise if this option is not available and addresses by DHCP starts at 192.168.2.2 to 192.168.2.100 then begin if not you may have conflicting IP address.

In the router at 192.168.1.1 you go into Setup and set Enable DHCP server and you click the DHCP Reservation.

You select the machines you want to address fix.

need Tos : I do not have the DHCP Reservation button when DHCP is to enable. This may be because it is a Linksys.
