keep AIM open when computer sleeps
Hello Guys,
I was wondering can I possibly put the computer to sleep and keep AIM open? I am actually asking on behalf of a pal who has a Macbook so i don't really know the proper solution. I don't know if they are closing the lid to it or putting it to sleep after some minutes...
many thanks

As far as my Knowledge whenever the machine is asleep, it's just that unfortunately. Only specified 'wake up' events will kick it back to life. He could always just configure it to never sleep and run it with the lid down using many tricky methods available on the internet.Just use the google who is your best friend for this

May be if it keeps the connection alive but it doesn't push messages. The thing is that if its a notebook wouldn't it lose its wireless connection once you put it to sleep? I guess the only way to perform it is to put it to sleep, plug in a keyboard, and hit the space bar or something and keep it alive

Re: keep AIM open when computer sleeps
Hello friend, the sleep mode is not much strange as a turned off computer, except that the memory gets enough power to keep it's content, so that after waking up, the computer is at the same state as prior to the sleep.Which means that all connections are cut off, including Internet or Ethernet. So obviously there is no possibility to keep the connection while the computer is in sleep mode.
