What your thoughts about pistol in this game? Can we silent the pistol? Anyone have any idea on this?

It would be pretty cool if you could have a silencer on it. But I like to use a different weapon if I want to be sneaky. Like in Fallout, I would always wear a Chinese stealth suit (the New Vegas one where it isn't invisible) and I'd carry around a machete with me. Massacres all over! But having a gun where you could dispatch foes without alarming others is pretty useful. But using a wing stick will still be just as fun

I really want to mod the pistol to shoot 3-round bursts. Come to think of it, I think there's a gameplay video with that very thing.

That won’t actually heavily silence a revolver only help mask the muzzle flash. This doesn't apply to RAGE's pistol as its some funky ass multi-barrel 'revolver', but a normal revolver has a space between the cylinder and the barrel which allows gas to escape when fired. So much so that it can actually sever your finger. You silence a gun via trapping and slowing down the gas that propels the bullets, cooling it down. You may quiet it a bit due to slowing down most of it but there would still be a loud 'pop' from that gap.

RAGE's pistol has no gap, and the cylinder also contains the barrels or at least its housed internally with no gap and is housed internally (surrounded via a shell). So, going off the idea it still 'turns' so it only uses 1 hammer (as 5-6 hammers would be even more absurd) you could technically silence that pistol if you wanted to as all the gas would escape via the front-end. I highly doubt that's an option though. Considering that thing looks like some makeshift pistol slapped together by survivors since, for some reason, a proper revolver (which would maintain easier with less parts) doesn't seem to exist anywhere.

Frankly I hope the Authority has their own pistol that can be, or is silenced by default, or has some kind of special sub-sonic soundless ammo of some kind. But then I am hoping for a magazine fed pistol with a slide. Kind of doubt that though, probably only that 1 pistol.

Rage isn't about realism so I am not going to get in to the ins and outs of a revolver silencer. I've not seen one but there may be an upgrade / ammo type that does this.

We get the wing stick which is meant to be the sneaky weapon. I think its gameplay element that you use your offhand for the purpose of getting silent frags. Why would they break their own design? That would be similar to a flashlight for your gun in DooM3 and also the game design implemented that you had to put aside your weapon to get your flashlight in your hands. You should get what I mean.
