Turn off Instant Message alerts
Hey Everyone,

I would like to know that how do i turn off my Instant Message alerts. I'm using MSN Live Messenger, which continuously keeps on sending me instant alert messages. I would like to stop them from poping up on my desktop screen. So, does any one knows how can i turn off my Instant Message alerts? Any kind of information on this would be appreciated.

It’s been suggested I make note of the following:
If for whatever reason (bad signal, etc) your Text/SMS Message does NOT send, you will not be notified. You will have to check your Outbox (Start-- > Messaging-- > Messages-- > Menu-- > Folders-- > Outbox).
If you would like your “Sent Text/SMS Notifications” back after installing this hack, just uninstall it. (Start-- > Settings-- > Remove Programs)

Go to to your instant messaging Account Settings page and click the “Instant Messenger is: OFF” button.

Note: You can still initiate IMs, even though you appear as though you're unavailable, but you will not receive any IM messages from other members.
