This is the most common problem faced by many people, It is better that you install Opera 10, It showcases a sleek new design coupled with our new Turbo technology, Which keeps loading Web pages lightning fast, even if your connection slows down. Re: Problem with the installation of Firefox 3.5
I want to install Mozilla firefox 3.5 in ubuntu 9.04, Ubuntu 9.04 comes with Firefox 3.0.x and does not plan to automatically upgrade to Firefox 3.5. It seems that the official repositories for Ubuntu Jaunty (9.04) does not have the latest version of Firefox (3.5.3). It is currently recommended to use the official binary from Mozilla. is there any way to install firefox 3.5 in ubuntu 9.04.

Re: Problem with the installation of Firefox 3.5
In Ubuntu 9.04, Firefox 3.5 is called Shiretoko. The reason is that "Firefox" is a registered trademark, and Canonical has no right to compile the source Firefox and distribute under the brand name "Firefox". This is also why he does not use the official logo of Firefox. They have therefore compiled from official sources to create Firefox 3.5 Shiretoko. Do not panic, it is indeed Firefox 3.5, and all extensions are compatible.

The facility will allow you to keep your bookmarks and extensions (provided they are compatible with Firefox 3.5).

sudo aptitude install firefox-3.5 firefox-3.5-gnome-support
sudo rm / usr / bin / firefox
sudo ln-s / usr/bin/firefox-3.5 / usr / bin / firefox

Then launch Firefox 3.5. At first launch of Firefox 3.5, you'll no doubt a warning about some incompatible extensions (like xulrunner). It does not matter.
