Google centralizes 10 million sites on its servers

Google hosts more than 10 million websites! This study reveals that the company Netcraft, an expert on Internet and security. It regularly publishes market shares of software and operating systems used for hosting websites. For Netcraft, each domain or subdomain is a web site.
In October 2008, 182 million sites have responded to the analyst robots, almost a million more than the previous month. Of these, just under 74 million are active. In all, Apache leader rest of accommodation with 50.43% market share and 91.9 million hosted sites. The perennial challenger to Microsoft the following distance with 34.44% market share of Internet Information Services (IIS), or 62.8 million sites.

It remains to consider the merits of such a centralization of information and knowledge.
