Will Dead Island have Split Screen?
I have a question in my mind and I want to share it here. I want to know that, Dead Island will have Split Screen or not? I tried to search this on many forums, but I didn’t got any answer from there. I will like if Split Screen will be there in Dead Island. But, I want to confirm that it will be there are not. If anyone of you have got to know about this from anywhere then please reply here.

Thanks, for your reply. Yes, it’s little annoying, if Split Screen will not be in Dead Island. I was not expecting this with Dead Island. I can’t understand why Split Screen is not available in Dead Island. Do you have any idea about why Split Screen is not going to be in Dead Island?

Re: Will Dead Island have Split Screen?
I think, you might have heard the fact that, Dead Island is a free roam kind of game, and it is not ‘On Rails’ kind of game, that is the main reason, why Split Screen is not there in Dead Island. There was Split Screen in Left 4 Dead and Resident Evil 5 because they both were pretty much on Rails. Another reason is that, they have to keep Frame Rate in their mind. Suppose, you and your friend is playing Split-Screen on Dead Island and for some reasons, you got separated from each other and then you both got attacked by lot of zombies. As both the character have different skills and style, both of your screens will run at different speeds. As both of you attacked by lots of zombie and both are you at different location, it will require a lot of information to be processed and it can cause your game to work little poorly (like, it might freeze up) and I think none of us will want it to happen. That may be the reason why Spit Screen is not there in Dead Island.
But, you can enjoy multiplayer as System Link cooperation will work in this game, though it doesn’t have the ease of access as Split Screen has, but it’s better than nothing.

Yes, I also got to know from the developers of Dead Island, as they have confirmed that Split-Screen will not be in Dead Island, because Split-Screen will not do environment justice, as you will require to be able to see everything which is running and it is for sure that Split-Screen will trim the things down and it will increase the requirement of good processor. It will be difficult to display such wonderful world by creating it twice on single screen and it will not be fair for average PC owners.

I play games on my Xbox 360. And I don’t have internet connection where I play my games. As you said that that System link will be available in Dead Island, I want to confirm that can me and my friend can play together by just connecting two Xbox using an Ethernet cable or we need to have Xbox live internet connection. If it will not require internet then I think I can play this game with my friend and for that I have to just buy two discs of Dead Island.

Yes, there is System Link cooperation available in this game. And System-Link is that in which you have to connect two consoles together and off course you don’t need to have Online capability, you can connect them with cables and enjoy playing with your friend.
