MSN messenger hangs after signing in
Hi friends,
I am using MSN messenger. But whenever i try to sign in to msn, it hangs and have to close it. Can anyone help me to solve this?

Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Try to reinstall the messenger. Make sure you have the correct version of the messenger that will still connect to their service. You need to run antivirus after updating it. Check for any malware or adware.

MSN messenger tries to use uPNP for streaming media, it may be that this is causing the failure. Check the status of the uPNP services in Windows and on your router. If you are running any software firewall, disable it and try to sign in. Also upgrade your messenger to latest version.

Following steps will help you to solve the problem:
Press Start button
Click on Run
Type 'regedit'
Browse "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger"
Delete the MSN Messenger folder
Try to sign in again
